The plumeria, known in Lao as dok champa, is the national flower of Laos. Elder L08 described the comfort the plant brings him as it reminds him of Laos. This photo is of a plumeria plant grown in his home. The plumeria was also mentioned by other Lao elders as having significance as a symbolic representation of their homeland.
