Elder L08 described the images that represent Lao culture, which included traditions and symbols of home that bring comfort. “Even though I am a U.S. citizen, I’m still Buddhist and I’m Lao and eat Lao food, and speak Lao to a lot of people and go to temple. I have in my house the beautiful flower. It is the Lao national flower. I have a tree because when I stay homesick and when I see in it my backyard I feel like I am in Laos.”
