Elder K04’s drawing represents her inner journey. She assigned specific meaning to the various shapes and colors.

Explaining the lower left side of the drawing, she said, “I was in the midst of darkness and confusion until I began moving towards the light.” In the darkness, “all sorts of thoughts were tangled up in this place… vague, unclear thoughts.” As the drawing moves from left to right, the colors become brighter, with the lines of green symbolizing “life getting stronger and deeper… going towards heaven.” Elder K04 stated how the increasing brightness and yellow in the upper right corner reflect “the brightness in my heart.” The black circles represent the darkness that can still be present, even in the light. When asked how she feels when she looks at the drawing, she said, “I feel peace and lightness.”
