Speaking to Researcher Helen, Elder K01 said: “This picture of your mom still has such an impact on me. We don’t have a lot of photos, but this was taken right after we got married… It’s always been my favorite photo of your mom.”
“When we first immigrated—your mom felt the same urge—we went to Santa Monica whenever we had free time to look out on the ocean toward Korea. It’s not like we could see Korea across the water, but even so. When you leave Korea, you end up thinking more about it.”
